Now that we are at it... Pocus could you confirm what elements are counted towards this blocking?
- 4 gunboat (only) elements
- 4 any ship elements (gunboats, brigs, ironclads, transports)
- 4 combat ships elements (gunboats, ironclads, brigs)
I think its the last one but would like to be sure...

About the new AI, I just noticed planning of move in region blocakaded by the enemy:

This screen shows the AIplotted moves for the turn ( I came back to the last turn and opened game from the CSA side played by Athena...)

The AI doesn't know to abandon such an impossible move to plot another move. Of course, opponent's armies can leave the field and open the path but the chance is really small.

On the whole, the new AI makes sound choices for operational moves but I'm a little concerned by its tendancy to move offensively whatever the condition. In the same example, Beauregard is unactive...not the ideal situation to lead an offensive against the enemy Capital.
