Still Playtesting because I changed the NM cities from the original scenario.
so far I've played only 4 games. 2 for each side. It seems to be O.K but I don't consider myself to be a total expert. Some feedback or AAR's would be helpful.

I guess I can divulge that bigus and I are working together on finishing the original, vanilla East 1862 Theater Scenario, too. (I'm writing up the East 1862 scenario background this very afternoon, in fact.)

We're having a bit of difficulty coordinating efforts among himself, myself, and AGEOD, though, to updating and revising the strings file "just right." So what you're seeing so far is not quite a finished product.

Speaking of which, what with your RR modding efforts becoming "official", maybe we need some procedural guidelines, and maybe a style guide, to minimize further confusion as we go forward.

Let's PM this (and cc all involved) if you think this idea has merit.

Update has been posted at the top. The confederates now have the Army of Tennessee HQ which is locked in Montgomery AL for 8 turns. After that you can build the Army.

It seems that a Windows Vista "feature" garbled some of bigus' files and somehow borked some of the very latest scenario titles, backgrounds, victory conditions, and descriptions. :bonk:

bigus sent me some updated files, and all appears as it should be, at least in our private files. I don't know yet if the publicly available files are correct.

But we're back on track to finish the East 1862 scenario.

When this will be released by bigus publicly, I don't know. I also can't say when and if the fully updated five scenarios we have worked on--Atlanta, Vicksburg, Trans Mississippi 1861, East 1862, West 1862--will go "official" and go into the next patch.

Gray, I think I'll get myself a stiff drink and finally read through your LocalStrings "tutorial" this evening. It should help clear a few things up.

btw, I'm guessing that TBD is "to be determined"?

Yes, I believe so.

Damn Vista "compatability files" :fleb:

The east scenario will probably be ready by next week as soon as Berto sends me the Strings.

All the scenarios so far are in the current DataBase

http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthread.php?t=3974

Although there will be some updates to the West scenario and the Strings file.
If your into such things you can generate all the updated scenarios and play them.

Not sure about that. One way would to get rid of the "compatability folder" is to turn "user account control" to off. I don't like doing this so I have to remember to check this folder when I change something in "program Files".

Just wanted to say, I played through this scenario about 3 times yesterday, twice with the Confederates and once as Union and it seems pretty decently balanced to me. I can't speak much on the authenticity of the results as I'm really pretty ignorant in regards to this historically, but I do know that it was a challenge on both sides.

I will say I think it's an outstanding "tutorial" type scenario. I think it's a great stepping stone from the individual battle scenarios before jumping into a grand campaign. It gives you the opportunity to do a bit with the drafts and such, and you're working your reinforcements and replacements without it being overwhelming, and seems harder to really mess things up too bad. :) Anxious to see more of these, great job and thanks a bunch!

B: The Army of Tennessee HQ was never in Montgomery to the best of my recollection. There were large elements of that Army located in Pensacola, Fl before Bragg moved them North. T

This is the Army HQ. You can build the army wherever your 3 star General is by Moving the HQ to that location. I could have placed the HQ anywhere.
I figured Montgomery was a nice safe place for it.

The reason I did not place the Army HQ's in the force pool is because when built they are created in Richmond or the capital which is not a playable location in this scenario.
