Help the Newbie!

Sat Jan 05, 2008 2:12 pm

Greets Gents, I just happily became one of your newest ACW enthusiasts.

I present to you my first, in a sure to be long stream of questions, regarding game issues.

In this opening tutorial, I'm combining units (Crittenden in this case, probably most of you remember this part), and when I hover over one of the Divisions in his command, I see ie. Nelson, and 3 brigades under his command over his graphic -- yet off to the right side of the stack composition bar I see the unit symbols for several other units apparently in his command. They have unit designations that are nowhere to be found (by me anyway) in this stack.

What am I missing here?
<<Here I see 3 units>>--------------------------<<Here I see 9 units>>

Hope this is a coherently scripted question.

Thanks for responses, and I look forward to haunting this forum for a long time to come.

Hello and greetings!

What you see in the small blue square to the left are the brigades composing the division. What you see to the right, are called NATO symbols, and are the regiments of the brigades, all merged in a single list. You are seeing the same soldiers but presented in two hierarchical levels in fact.

Thanks much Pocus. Yeah I saw the "Elements" # and thought that it was reflective of sub divisions in the units. It was just a bit disconcerting when I saw unit designations on the right that have no mention at all of what units they are combined into. Nato symbols I'm familiar with from long ago, thanks.

This is looking like a most amazing game. Can't wait to master it and get on with PBEM.

Now if I could just figure out how to get the damn tutorial window open again hahah.

I think you just click on the message box to re-open the tutorial? I just checked, and just double-click the Tutorial message you want to open in the message box. :-)

Red message = clickable 'pop-up' message. So browse the message list until you see the message you closed.
