I detached my cavalry from the stack ready to assault Fort Sumter - to send it by rail to capture the naval base in Norfolk (like I always do btw).
The following turn my assault on Sumter was not succesfull - I lost 2000 and the Union lost 750 men - no Union units destroyed.
Hm, in the past I never had issues with Sumter ? Has this been changed - I must confess I took a 2 month brake on the game.
Btw = I tried a few turns later - but the Union had reinforced Sumter IIRC ! Again no succes ...
I've now send a general down south to capture the fortress - hoping to reduce the command penalty - I raised 2 brigades down south to join the Sumter besiegers.
Btw = It seems the Union ships out a truckload of brigades the first turns - is that an attempt to reinforce Sumter or other fortresses ?
