Bad combat report - missing units

Mon Mar 27, 2006 7:12 am

Using V 1.04b - 1775 scenario as British.

Do nothing with the Boston army on turn 1. On turn 2 when the large British army arrives at Boston, combine both armies and attack the American army under Ward sitting outside Boston.

You will win the battle. The combat report shows 572 attacker points vs 0 defender points, yet the casualties are 58 attacker and 129 defender. The American commander is Joseph Warren , with Israel Putnam the only American present; no American combat units are present (all the British units do show). Yet the combat loss section at the bottom shows 3 American militia killed.
The American army units should have been shown as present in the combat screen

When I mouse over the American army at the start of the next turn, I see many casualties, proving that they fought and lost a large battle.

Repeatable several times in a row.

it's not a bug, just a very badly implemented summary of the battle :)

What you see are the units engaged on the first hour of battle, and not the ones which are commited after. I'm even surprised that I got no remarks on that earlier...

I will push the entry on the top of my todo list, it can be a bit strange I admit. (no road networks tomorrow Philippe ;) ).

Thanks for the explanation, Pocus. I look forward to the fix.
