I am not sure if other members of this forum know that for a perfect challenge in a balanced but super challenging wargame ROP is the supreme challenge and, maybe, reward.
Bertram and Squalor were writing AAR without using any pics that I start to get interested in game. Campaigning, winter, movement were all exciting to read.
ROP is chess with probability and player understanding thrown in. It is very hard to play well as either side. So far in my play, there is not 'best' play, just good options and lines of play.

I agree; ROP is an excellent and exciting game. It's quick, simple to play, full of surprises, but also complex in a way that never grows old.
