Loan, Collection center and Austro-Czech/ Austro-Croat soldier etc..

Sun Jul 26, 2015 8:02 pm

Hello,

Sorry if it has been already discussed but I have few question:

1) First regarding the "collection center".

I play as Austria, so it is not about import export that I am interested in (which I am not really aware as Aus does not have colonies) but rather the fact that they produce 1 State gold, I was wondering if there was a way to increase this amount throught railroad or to put it on big cities etc... thks

2) As I was re-reading for the xxx time the manual I realized that the part about "LOAN" between states was not implemented yet (as of manual 1.02 ENG) but it said it could be later through patch...

Does anyone ever experience this before ? If so, could you explain how to and how it was, thanks.

3) Finally, it is notorious for the Austro-Hungarian empire to have use in its armies "minorities" group as soldiers such as Polish, Italian (navy for ex), Croat, Czech etc... Does it actually happen in PON while playing as Austria ?

If so how do you do, because I only see Hun or Aus cards to enroll, besides the replacement pool for Pol as well. Do you need to increase the size of a region with a population of these minorities to see that happen...

Thank you in advance to anyone you could help.

Best regards.

1) Collection centers do not upgrade, they have a specific purpose in game and cannot be exploited in any way to generate extra cash other than the one dollar they produce.

2) I don’t think loans will ever make it into the game, it would probably be a good idea for AGEOD to edit the mention of them out of the manual to avoid confusing new players. Players can set up loans via event scripting in PBEM games but this is effectively modding the game and is not an inherent part of the games code.

3) I’ve never actually played Austria, so I cannot say for certain if they ever get to produce units other than Austrian or Hungarian. But I do know that they start with lots of different nationality units on map in the 1880 scenario (Polish, Czechoslovakian, Romanian to name a few), though none are available to be built in the production area. So perhaps these units arrive via event and can never get produced or perhaps they are only included in the 1880 scenario I don’t know.

Thanks for your answers,

1) got it.

2) Too bad, that would have been useful to use my extra cash for something, because I do have a lot aof it...

3) Actually I never tried any other scenario than the 1850 one, even if I started it several times. I will check, thks.

Best regards

1. Regarding Collection Centers. I do believe that by upgrading to railroads and through technologies gained, I have seen it go from 1 Pound Sterling to 2 (the total technology would have to be at 200%). It may be possible after the technology improving railroads goes into effect that over 300% production is possible which would increase it to 3.

I haven't played for a few months, so I may be wrong on this. Jim definitely has more experience in the game than me. Either way, it really isn't worth the effort to maximize a 1 Pound gain. Collection Points are really only useful to ensure trade and on a as-needed basis.

1) you can easily modify it by going to structures directory under game directory, search for colection centre then output and you can change money = 1 (i think it is that name for game code purpose) to anything value you want.
and yes, it will aply to all states which own that structure :) .
2) dont hope for it
3)yes, a-h can build other minorities units other than aus/hun, but later in game (if you started in 1950) - they will be added via event at certain date (same is for russia with baltic/balkan units).
