Misc Questions

Thu Jul 24, 2014 6:41 pm

I am playing with patch 1.03:

1. How does one rename a force (for flavor)? I saw references that the tabs can be renamed.
2. How does not tell the total amount of troops in a stack (rather than count up the number in each unit)? I can't seem to find the combination of hovering that does the trick.
3. What do folks do with Lyons? Pull him out of Mo after promoted? Leave him there?

1. ALT + Left Click on the stack tab will allow you to rename your stack.
2. Hover your mouse pointer over the unit's combat power rating. When you do you will see the number of men, horses and guns in each unit of the stack (located at the bottom of unit).
3. This is really a matter of personal preference. Although eligible for promotion several times, I kept Lyons as a division commander in a corps under Humphreys (?). It was a one division corps stack (but powerful) under Grant as the army commander. I used the stack to capture Memphis, Humboldt, Island 10, Ft. Pillow, Corinth and a few other locales in TN. I also used it in a huge assault on Nashville. I don't know what happens to Lyons after you promote him, but I liked his ratings as is and didn't want to (possibly) kill his stats with promotion.
