Ideas for future expansions

Hi Everyone,

I am ecstatic about the 2nd Punic war expansion. Its really going to take us to one of the most exiting periods in Roman warfare, and I can't wait to get into it. While we wait, I can't help but think about what other periods I'd like to see next.

I think it would be really great to explore the Later Roman Empire. It hasn't really been done except with Great Invasions which is getting old. Say an expansion starting with the rise of Constantine, Adrianople, Stilicho and the Frigidus river (East VS West), Aetius and Attila, and finishing off with Bellisarius and the gothic wars.

Maybe even a scenario playing as the Vandals trying to establish a kingdom in the west.

This would open up loads of new possibilities, with a change in composition of the army (Limitanei, Foederati and Palatini troops), the rise of the Catholic church, and a change in overall strategy where the empire is on the defensive.

This would really be a nice way to complete to the grand opus on Roman warfare that AJE has become.

Thats exactly what i mean to. In the end there is practically no limits for expansions and scenario addons for this game.
Keep updating and keep up the expansions and this game will live on forever

It's clearly time to step away from the Romans, and start moving towards greener pastures. The Greeks and their wars are far more interesting; just follow the narrative of Herodotus, Thucydides, and Xenophon; there are a tonne of potential scenarios contained in those texts, both epic and minor, and a tremendous variety in the types of units and geographical locations.

I'd like to see the civil wars between the Triumvirs (Bruttus, Cassius, Lepidus, Anthony, Octavian) .. .this could spread over a large timespan and would make good use of the large and beautiful map!

Agreed. As I think I have said before, a well done Peloponnesian War would be godly!
