Vista

Does AACW wrok on the Vista operating system? The demo shut down and Microsoft reported to me that Vista does not include a .dll file which was in Windows previously and which the application requires. Is this corrected in the game proper as opposed to the demo?

This don't have any side effect on the game per se, though.

We don't have the right for now to release the DLL, but you can get it as TeMagic says.

johnhulten,I'll give you some of my experince with Vista.
It works but I have had quite a lot of problems. I had several cases of a black screen and subsequent restarts. Then Pocus made it clear to me that I had a problem with virtuall memory. When I checked it turned out that Vista for some reason managed the virtual memory for one partition on my hard drive but not for the one where I have the game.
If you have more than one partition you should go to the control panel, system, then to advanced settings and check.
There is also further problems if you like me have a video card from Nvidias 8800 series. A new driver were issued by Nvidia 2May but there still is compatibility issues between Vista and those cards. Other videocards, I don't know.

From several reports over the net (to take with some salts), Nvidia drivers are less stable than ATI drivers, for Vista.

As of now, we advise any Vista owners to test the demo before buying the game, to check compatibility.

dont use demo as a test.

the demo for american civil war and demo for BoA they both work great on vista.

but the full game when u buy it they tend to have random crashes, and dont seem to work.

the demo and the full game are essentially the same. I know, I coded it ;)

The game can have crashes, but they are not random (and bugs are fixed), if you got a problem, don't hesitate to report.
