Why I'm giving AGEOD games away - FREE

Wed Aug 21, 2013 11:11 pm

Great games - so why don't more people play them?

Well I went to my local retail store and bought six copies of "AGEOD's Military Strategies". (WiA, AACW, WW1)

And gave them to friends at my local sports club who expressed some interest in history.

How wonderful for your friends. I actually did not know anyone played these games until I stumbled upon this forum during an update of RUS. Since then, I have met several really nice people and players on this forum. I guess I am saying, make sure your friends find their way to the forum. While it is not as active as when I first found the forum, there are still many players who willingly provide help to new players. And unlike other forums, all are welcome. You will never be ignored or 'dised' by the 'superior' folks.
Like you, I make certain all my friends own these games and play them.
I think my game dreams were not fulfilled until I met my first Ageod game, WIA. Since then, dreams have grown to the my ultimate fantasies fulfilled by all the other Ageod games.

I never had many friends or family that were into strategy games, let alone detailed and cerebral ones like AGEOD games. I never thought they'd like them, so I never said anything. Perhaps there is a strategy game help group around somewhere? LOL

'Hello, my name is Boomer and I like to play AGEOD games in my spare time.' Now, where's the free coffee and donuts? Can we still smoke in here?

I didn't want to bother my girlfriend (now wife) with wargames, even I knew that she prefer war movies (not do I, so already I had found this weird, lol).
But she's wowed by RUS or other wargames, maybe more than me! (she does not seem to fake to please me)
So, don't prejudice about what others could love or not... Don't hide what could be a treasure for them..

Yeah, Eriss, but you're from Europe, where women are smart and sophisticated. I'm from 'Murica where women are into shopping and watching reality tv shows. Reliving the Russian revolution isn't real high on their list of priorities. Seriously, Americans are a generation or two away from becoming the Eloi from the Time Machine.

Believe me, I'd buy hundreds of copies of AGEOD games and sit on a sidewalk and give them away if I thought for a second that it might trip some mental stimulation in my fellow countrymen. Alas, it won't.

I'm from Europe yes, but she's a smart woman (not so sophisticated) from Madagascar.
She's not very fond of history nor revolutions, she likes strategy, because it helps tactics and courage stories. Some centuries ago, she may have been a Malagasy pirate lol (a chieftain? even she does not care about this). I tell her she's my "Sister of the Coast" lol.
