Odd things

Thu May 03, 2007 8:58 pm

Hm, I don't know how to say this but my game are behaving more and more erratic. Some stuff doesn't affect gameplay but feels annoying. Like names and pictures that changes so that you have two div.hq in one division all of a sudden but one of them are really a brigade.
Other thing does. Like raiders, patriots, bushwackers that don't burn depots automaticly as they should.
Dissmissing Beauregard so I can replace him with Lee is not possible. Beauregards ArmyHQ is invisible. It doesn't show when I mouse over B. and it will not come availiable when I click the dismiss button.
I've seen other odd stuff that I can't recall right now. It's just that it seem to increase.I don't know, maybe it is because I've had all sorts of trouble with black screen and other crashes(not AACW:s fault but rather due to the fact I have Vista :bonk: ).
By the way, I had a battle were my combat value=1482 and the AI=8. My commander was Jackson and no commander for AI. I had entrenchment level 8 and various abilities as bonus. AI won with 1 casualty against my 197 but that is something that happens to everyone once or twice, right? ;)

I'm willing to check all these issues, but we have to formalize a bit things in order to fix them, as you understand.

For each one, I need a saved game, with the backups if the problem happened during hosting (not being able to detach Beauregard don't need a backup, just the turn though).

I need also the location and description of the problem.

With that, I can check everything otherwise I can't do anything :)

I have sent my last turn with the problem regarding Beauregard.
As to the other stuff I'm inclined to belive it was my mind that played some tricks on me. I was tired and I'm sorry if I sounded a bit harsh. I think it's a waste of time to search for them now(if they ever excisted).
You and the others with Ageod are really an outstanding polite and helpfull team.

I started a new campaign and noticed that Beauregard's Hq were missing from the very start. Well, it's there in the panel to the right when I mouse over B. but no picture and no way to split it from B. Is it only me that experince this from the start?

These are all connected, the Armies of both camps created by event in the April 1861 campaign, the Union Divisions and the Confederate Brigades with leaders. I have just reinstalled the game from scratch to compare the older event files with the current one (unfortunately I didn't have older patches saved, else I could just have reverted to one predating these oddities). I think some error must have slipped in in the meantime.

Must be something else after all, the part of the event script I thought might be causing the problem was already present in the 1.00 version.

It remains something of a curiousity -- Divisions will take on a leader, an artillery gun, a leader, or a cavalryman as their unit icon, depending on how they are formed.

I assume this is just cosmetic, but I'm curious how the icon is chosen.
