I'm a bit stuck

Sun Apr 29, 2007 11:49 am

Bit embarrassing really, because it's only the first turn...

(posted at Matrixgames forum also)

I am officially lost.

I fired up the 1775-1783 Campaign and thought "Now what?". I mean, I know I have to take 20 strategic towns and 13 objectives...but with what? All my units seem to be locked, at least for a few turns.

So am I just to click the "Next Turn" button until my units become active?

And an annoying thing is...I can't see, at a glance, what units are under my command (available for moving)...not even on the mini map. Very annoying because I have to scan the map from top to bottom, left to right, looking for towns under my control with a little box with a number in it...then clicking on it reveals the units are locked. If I have missed it, then I'd appreciate someone pointing it out.

I have read the manual, by the way, and use it to reference, but iirc, there wasn't anything in there about being able to see what units you can and can't move.

Hi JudgeDredd,

I know that starting the campaign the first time can be quite confusing, but after a few turns you will get the hang of it. :)
You can cycle through your available troops by the shortcut keys 'E' and 'R' for land units and 'T' and 'Y' for naval units. These keys skip units which have already movement orders. Use Ctrl-E/R/T/Y to cycle through these too.

So am I just to click the "Next Turn" button until my units become active?

Yes, at the beginning you have to be a bit patient and wait till new troops arrive before you can start your major offensive.

(BTW: Maybe someone could move this thread to the correct section? :) )

Thx for the repy. The E,R,T,Y will certainly be handy on finding units which can move.

And apologies for posting in the wrong forum :bonk:
