native unrest question

Fri May 10, 2013 10:01 am

The indians of Northwest Canada does not like me. They have been in continuous revolt for several years now.

I have played all available colony cards, schools and stuff, but that was very few actually , due to the fact that Canada is already a colony.

Right now I am dealing with the problem by having a shitload of mounted Canadians patrolling all over the place, I also built a railroad and a bunch of depots to support them. It works, but it seems to be a bit of a waste.

Am I supposed to build up a working economy in these far away provinces, will that make them happy?

Or shall I carry on my violent rule? It works in the short term. But I would like a more lasting solution to this problem.

I have the exact same problem in Australia, the aborigines also don't like me. So that place is swarming with Indian soldiers (from India).

Not much you can do about Indian (natives) revolt in Canada, this will last episodically till the 1880's, then it will be gone if you have well colonized the region and pacified it (schools, missionaries, vaccination). You're on tracks

Thanks for the quick answer, I am glad that it can be solved eventually.

And now that I have got your attention: Thank you very, very much for a very, very well thought out game. I haven't had so much fun in ages. There may be a few things that I am perhaps not so happy about, but I will report on this later, when I am more familiar with the game.
