The same thing has happened now on turn 10 of the Pyrrhus scenario. Will try to attach the relevant files.

Really weird,

Could you confirm that you and your opponent use the same patch version ?

Could you update your AJE to 1.02a ?

Is your game a PreOrder one ?

We're both using AJE 1.02a. There doesn't seem to be a problem when my opponent hosts the game, so that is some kind of solution.
However, I would like to be able to do so too.
I did pre-order, but I'm not sure about my opponent. Will check when he gets back from holiday.
