Repeatable crash

Every time I try and execute my turn (1850 full campaign British), it drops to the initial game screen. Not sure what the problem is, but Burma is set to become a colony this turn so that may have something to do with it. I never declared war on Burma, simply fought the already hostile natives from game start until now. Making them a protectorate a while back worked fine, so I don't see why the colony option shouldn't work, so that may have nothing to do with the problem.

I tried to add the save folder with all three backups, but the file was too large, so only backup1 could be included.

Had the same Problem with my Japan Grand Campaign. If you click on the next Turn Button, you drop to the main menu. I could play a few years more with an older Save, but now the game drops during the AI process time to the main menu.

Sorry for overlooking this message :(

I have processed your turn, with AI on (as one might expects!) with 1.03 and latest quickfix, and it ran without any problem. Can you confirm you are using latest patch? In any case, I can send you the new turn if need be.

This don't seems to be the same problem, you are crashing in the diplomacy part. Same as James, are you using 1.03 + QF? If yes, then give me your save, if no, try with it :)

Yes, I use PON 1.03 d QF. I tried to load the game again. Now I get the same error again as James. I press the turn button and I drop to the main menu. Here is the log file.

The error is random an can occur in the midst of the game, not only when I start PON and load the Save to start playing.

Now regarding the Problem when you press the next turn button and PON send you instead to the main menu. It seems a corrupt savefile ist the source of the problem.

In the thread Save-just-vanished... Albert Herring and Jim-Nc explained the solution. PON created an empty HST-File. You need to replace your corrupted save-files with the save-files from the backup. You will loose 1 turn but better than to loose your save. ;)

I was going to say that, on some puters, sometime, the HST file is not properly written (probably because write-privileges are denied at some point but only temporarily as the others files are written correctly!).

Hi Pocus,

I restored three turns and played on by declaring war on Burma and then immediately sending them peace terms which they accepted. It worked and I was able to play on past the turn they became a colony, so I assumed the problem had something to do with me trying to make them a colony while they were hostile to me.

Anyway I've played on well beyond the save, so whatever the issue was wasn't game breaking. I'm just sorry it appears to have been specific to my machine, and not a repeatable crash file that you could put to good use.
