Effect of losses on inflicted damage on the enemy

Sat Oct 27, 2012 2:26 am

Suppose a normal infantry regiment consisting of 1000 men, inflicts 2 hit points in both fire and shock fighting.

What happens to the damage inflicted if there are only 500 people in the regiment? Is it the same?

Are the chances of achieving a hit also decreased if the unit is not full?

Men in units are simply "flavor" expressed as "men per hit". Same for horses and guns.

A hit is a hit. See the Element Detail window for max hits.

IIRC, chance to recieve a hit does not take into account the max or existing hits of any element.

I see, of course that's WAD, but the reality is a direct proportion between unit headcount and damage it may inflict. May be a point to improve engine in many years ahead?

Lower headcounts (in Strength Points / Max SP) lower significantely the chance to hit.

Maybe Narwhal has not well read your 1st post and is talking about attackers' headcounts?

I was speaking of the attacker. Lodilefty was speaking of the defender. Your number of "remaining" hits has no impact if you are on the receiving side, it does if you are on the firing / attacking side.

Alright, must be my fault for a lack of clarity:

Does the strength of the firing unit have an impact on the probability of inflicting hits?
