How many human orders can an AGEOD game handle?

Wed Jun 06, 2012 8:15 pm

You thought WHI, RED, and WH3 were many? Think again... :w00t:

Our current setup: 24 nations played by 19 players!

No, we have backed down at the moment to improve the secondary ones we recently extracted. This is paramount to have a balanced game. Once they have some more development, we will probably release them as well. The ideal will be for each human player to play a unique nation.

I have to say, the AGE engine doesn't have a single problem handling the many different orders. :)

Say it louder :)

It impacts processing time honestly, perhaps extra 5-8 seconds per player, as one more player, one more order file to load.

It is more or less equal though. Here's why: indeed there is some extra time needed to "read/write' the new turns, but you earn a lot of time in processing phase as there are only few (and relatively small) countries left in need of the AI to have their orders calculated. :)

The most remarkable thing, though, it's the stability of all this. Loving it!
