Download? Always an Option?

Sun Feb 26, 2006 6:30 am

This game has peaked my interest, but may wait until demo comes up before making final decision. Just bought a couple of other games, so money kind of tight anyways.

However, I was curious if the ability to download the game will always remain or will it only be an option until the game is available on CD? I personally like downloads, especially since I'm in the states.

I look forward to taking a shot at the game. By the way, could you tell me the cost in US dollars?

To be precise, the customers who order the box now will receive a bonus free download option. This is valid till March 15th, as our manufacturing of the CDs has been delayed.
The full game is 33 euros, i.e. 39.99 US$ more or less, plus the shipping cost which depends on where you live :sourcil:

The digital download option is now in place and will always be there. The price of the DD version of the game is 30 euros, more or less 37.5 US$

But, the good news is, that as a Non-European you do not pay the VAT taxes included in our product, so that means you really pay

Full Version : 27.6 € - 34.50 US$ + shipping
DD version : 25.1 € - 31.40 US$

Thanks for the quick responses. Looks like you have great support of your game, don't always see that with other companies. Price seems very reasonable.

If the user reviews keep being positive, may have to rethink my decision to wait until demo :sourcil:

One last question and then I promise nor more for now :)

I wasn't sure I understood the download thing and when I would actually get it. Usually when you buy a download, it is immediately available. However, looking through some of the threads, I think they are implying you have to "wait" after making the purchase. Therefore, if I took the plunge today and bought it, how long before I could receive it? I have some free time today, so really thinking about getting it now. So many positive reviews that are swaying me.

I think you refer to people who pre-ordered the phisical copy of the game. they had to wait for their e-mails with instructions to download the game (as a bonus).

With normal digital download purchase, I was able to download the game right after my credit card was processed. The final screen, and the confirmation e-mail both included the needed serial, so there was no waiting time. The installer you download is around 250MB, so it aint that huge of a file, either. :)

I ordered the physical copy late yesterday afternoon and within fifteen minutes, got an email for Philippe with the dl link. I think the man is camped out at his computer reading emails for a 72 hour marathon. I was quite pleased with the prompt service. :hat:

PhilThib,

The game looks very interesting and based on the comments I've read hear and in some other forums I'm leaning towards purchasing it even before the demo comes out. However, can you give any idea what the shipping (and any other related costs - such as Customs Duties) will be for delivery of the full version to purchasers in the United States? I'm trying to figure out how much extra it will cost me if I want a printed manual.

Thanks in advance,

kgsan

About $12 bucks(West Coast, USA), my purchase seemed to be $48 dollars incl. shipping give/take a buck. Considering i was sent a download link, and the high quality of the product(now a known factor), it was well worth it IMHO.

Also consider that we shall ship with registered mail, ensuring in principle that you get if for sure (almost, we speak postal services here :sourcil: ).. and in the worst case we can trace and deliver again...

Thanks for the quick response guys. Just out of curiosity, how many gpages is the printed manual? Is the manual it in color? What is its physical size of the printed manual? (This may seem an odd request, but in the US game manuals seem to be progressively shrinking - to the point its often a bit hard to read the pictures and charts in them. I suppose due to retailers ever increasing effort to free up more shelf space by shrinking the size of the merchandise.)

The manual is 28 pages - mostly in colour, 5" x 7".
There are also several reference sheets in colour : leaders, units and building.

Thanks Dgold, I went ahead and ordered the download version, I guess it won't kill me to print out 28 pages.
