
Yes, it can get slow and probably boring sometimes, but the thrill of playing with real human players and complex diplomatic arrangements while sticking to custom rules makes it extremely engaging.
For those of you who are interested there are two games currently running:
- One started a couple of days after the game was out, I recently hopped in myself, and is very mature with all the patches in. Daily cadence of submitted turns and we are already in 1856.
- One that's about to start, rules are still being defined.
Both have some slots free, mostly for minor (non-scripted) nations. Nevertheless, you can play it in parallel with your main singleplayer campaign and if a human player abandons a desired major nation you can have it and continue from there. People can always come and go.
