Why not French and Spanish forum?

Tue Aug 16, 2011 12:01 am

All of Ageod's games so far have those fora, but PoN. I hope this hasn't to do with the buy out from Paradox, so that let die slowly these forums and move them to the Paradox ones. I hope I'm wrong. So please, we will enjoy discussing here this wonderful game in our languages. Thanks. ;)

My guess would be it has to do with an entire week's worth of threads fitting on a single page as it is. Even with a couple French threads in the mix already.

I second the idea of languages forums for Pon as it is done for other Ageod games !

The thing has already been asked (here, for example) with no "official" answer. Maybe is it a "no", or at least a "we don't have time for this", but having french and spanish topics amongst english ones is the best way to lose and never reply them ! Moreover, people who don't speak this english language are not encouraged to participate...

Are you sure one needs a week to search amongst 20 pages to isolates non-english topics ? Or do I misunderstand your message ? ;)

Bruit Bleu, thanks for the links; they were helpful :)

Make sure to let us know if there are any other French or Spanish threads on the loose out there ;)

For we Germans usually dont have this kind of problems... ;)

English is this first and mandatory foreign language we learn in school and later in life we do have only to accept that we are permitted to do mistakes (not like in school where, in later school years, you are not permitted to make more than 4% errs)

give ´em some air to breath. Phil and Pocus have answered french questions more than once.
this fellows, the devs, are working not only on PON and it is still summer break

BTW:

PARADOX (the big brother of AGEOD for a couple of month now) has opened different forums in different languages months ago...
And you know, some questions should only be answered at Paradox for registered users only.

up to now, they do a hell of a job and patching was more than necessary and they DID it, and certainly doing it far better than many other companies

for the German speaking forum i might claim, it was NOT USED AT ALL when i took a look to it some weeks ago.

there are more or less "private" forums about the game in different languages, old google search field does a tremendous job, as someone mentioned it here and at Paradox.
Means, public used, but not bowing to any policy of how-to-deal-with... (anyway, they are of course judging software pirates to be hanged to the next apple tree)

i might say, there are some French forums about PON as well (my boss is a normally French speaking Belgian)

so far i see, its only a luxury problem, that u r expecting as much as they did in past for other games

Thank you. There are several Spanish posts on PoN in the AACW Cuartel General, all starting with "PON" :)

Indeed there are non-english forums at Paradox' boards (for years, not monthes), but when the company decided to restrict the access of the Off Topic forums (and not only technical support) to badged users only, the French "Old Guard" fans, to a man, decided to move out from it, because they didn't understand the restrictions applied to them, some being registered to the boards for years. Sure, they could buy a newer Pdox game, but they didn't appreciate the marketing method and left to other boards.
Since then, the french Paradox forum, named "Le village des fous" which was one of the most active, is stone dead, even about EU3 or HOI3...

Well, Bruit Bleu...

with "its there for months" i did mean the explicit non-english-speaking forums for PON only. Most of them went online about March 2011

For the rest, u r absolutely right, its policy of PARADOX for years to have different national websites and forums...
We Germans have our own Paradox website, but even there, thats was my intention to have it expressed explicitly, we barely use it, we use the english forums...

what u r describing regarding PARADOX policy, I totally agree.

I am a man who buys games in retail shops or at AMAZON.com and I for myself stopped using Paradox forums since the change in policy after HOI2 too... that does mean many many years ago ;)

i reenlisted at paradox forum just few weeks ago, for PON was close to unplayable without the boxed-version patch to 1.01 and therefore i had to accept the PITA

some would have observed that i do agree with the reason why PARADOX is fighting pirates this way (what most of u know well, its in vain), but I do certainly prefer the way of AGEOD...

have a nice weekend

I must be dumb, I can't find them. :bonk:

Oh, are you saying I'm old ? It looks like decades in your description ! :p apy:
If I'm not wrong, the French exodus happened in 2008, but I don't remember what was the newest released game on that time. I remember that people bought HOI2-Armageddon expansion even if they didn't own the game, just because it was the cheapest badge.

The Paradox' anti-pirate policy on their technical support board is fine, until they decided to apply it to the Off Topics and exiled their old fan base...
