1.01 RC4 - Winter texture error CTD
Game crashed while scrolling. I had a "winter texture error" popup. Save + Log joined.

How can it be that in RC 4 you still get these errors btw?

As for the main problem, this is an interface crash, so first and foremost, you must try to reproduce it. Interface crashes are generally random, even on the same computer, and we can only fixes crashes that can be reproduced.
Specifically, this crash is related to the video driver and how the game put pressure on it (when the map change from winter to non winter or the reverse eg). This sometime happen on Vista/Seven with a video card not supporting fully DirectX 9, for older video cards, or for weird configurations (like running with WINE or with a MAC). I would advise to reduce the max texture size and memory usage in the Options Window, System, to the leftmost check each. If the game seems stable, then crank the settings one notch. If the game is still not stable, you must disable winter images from the same menu. Sorry for the inconvenience, but this is more an hardware problem than anything else.

It's the game that does not want to crash again!!! No way to reproduce yet, neither with this save nor another.
