I assume you are pressing <ctrl> and seeing 200/0/0 on the ship.![]()
There are the "flavor numbers"" representing men, guns, horses. There is no "gameplay" function of these numbers, but rather they only serve to increase your "immersion" in the game.![]()
Please refer to the manual for detailed transport procedures:

2. Land units begin a game turn in a region adjacent to a coastal sea zone containing a naval Force with transport units. The land Force is combined with the naval Force by drag-dropping the land Force on the naval Force’s TDM. A movement order may be issued to the naval transport Force. This movement order will be delayed until the land Force boards the transports.

With an unloaded ship, only the evasive move has a function, and since the Indians don't have ships, you won't see any effect.
Enter structure has nothing to do with loading a ship.
See http://www.ageod.net/agewiki/WIA_Manual#Special_Orders
Endicott with the militia and supply are "too heavy" to load only the Marcelline. Examine the tooltip for the ship, you'll see a line "Transport Capacity 0/10". This means max weight 10 can load, with 0 loaded so far.
Endicott weighs 0, the Militia weighs 4 and the Supply weighs 12, so they won't all fit. Load just Endicott and the militia (<ctrl>-click on those two in unit panel, drag to the Marcelline's tab) while ship is in port. Then move the ship (you should see Ship, Endicott and Militia all together in unit panel)
If you see both WIA and BoA folders, then you have probably tried to apply the Birth of America patch to WIA (aka BoA2). If so, I suggest you completely uninstall, delete the residual game folder, reinstall and be sure you patch with the WIA patch. (link in my signature below)
I also suggest you read through the on-line manual, which has been updated to a more current state: http://www.ageod.net/agewiki/WIA_Manual

I originally had BOA1. I deleted that and loaded BOA2, with the v.1.08rc4 patch. I have the manual corrected to 18th August. Perhaps I can delete the BOA folder?
YES
The manual says "The land Force is combined with the transporting naval Force by drag-dropping the land Force on the naval Force’s tab (on the Unit Panel)." The land force occurs in two places, in the panel and on the map, and the manual doesn't specify which should be dragged.
That's because it doesn't matter: you can drag/drop the unit from the map, a unit or several units from the unit panel, or the tab in unit panel onto another tab in unit panel. Dragging "tab to tab" eliminates any difficulty targeting the receiving fleet (technique also good for merging two land groups, etc.)
