More agitation for a Peloponnesian War engine

After a bit of thought, I've decided that the best fit with the Peloponnesian War in terms of game mechanics would be the Dutch Revolt. Both conflicts had a strong naval element and were characterised by the relative strength of fortifications against assault.

In each case, an ideological (or religious in the Dutch case) divide split the combattants vertically as well as horizontally and in each case one side had an acute need to fight on an economically sustainable basis for a very long time. Friesland and Gelderland were in a similar position to the Athenian subject cities. One big difference was the role of the rivers in the Dutch case, but AGEOD is no stranger to rivers and even a modest extension of the way they're treated now would be perfect.

Each conflict also drew in widespread foreign involvement. The hordes of games about (e.g.) Arnhem show how seductive a wide range of involved countries is commercially.

I don't know how balanced a Dutch Revolt game would be. AFAIK (and it's not that far), if Spain could have seized control of the Scheldt estuary then a secure Spanish naval base at Antwerp would have meant certain doom for the Dutch. Historically, the Spanish had to use Dunkirk which was hemmed in by sandbanks and could support only relatively minor naval forces.

Other good fits are the English civil war, French Revolutionary wars and the Thirty Years' War. I'm sure there are many more. Am I dreaming or is it starting to look commercially attractive? (nudge nudge) Seriously, there's no need to placate my agitation here. It wouldn't be my money being gambled on a new engine which I understand is a big investment, so I'm in no position to make demands. OTOH, my guess is that the idea merits consideration.

All talk so far has been on applying the AGE engine (as seen in WIA, NCP, AACW and BOA, and soon in ROP and VGN) to the Peleponnesian War, so there is little use in talking of a specific engine for a Peleponnesian War game.
