Leader promotion

Sun Nov 22, 2009 12:16 am

What happens when a leader is promoted in BOA2 ? Is it possible for his ratings and/or special abilities to be modified (like in AACW) ?

If yes, is there a list of these changes ?

This I could assume :D I was thinking to a change in strategic, offensive or defensive ratings (like in AACW where Hood ratings change from 5/4/1 to 5/0/1 when promoted to 3*).

The DB allows this of course, but most promotional changes are to abilities [example: Clinton "gains" Disprited Leader" ]

By far, since 1.06, most promotions are from the game-engine 'automatic' system, thus are rank-only.

Fertile grounds for modding ;)

Thanks a lot.

Does someone know if Cornwallis looses something when promoted ? I'm asking this because I've found three models for Cornwallis (directory GameData\Models) : one describes him as a rank 2 leader (rating : 5/3/4) and the other two as a rank 3 leader but with different ratings : 3/1/2 or 5/3/4

Unit 497 is Edward Cornwallis, served in FIW. Different guy ;)

He's the 3/1/2 :)

Also there are a bunch of leaders that appear in several scenarios in different versions. First as young 1* and later as older and usually higher ranking of themselves.
George Washington, that appears on the 1756 campaigns and scenarios as a young 1* British leader is the most famous but i have noticed half a dozen more, specially now with the new Pontiac's war scenario.

Cheers!
