Coastal Forts

Besides capturing them for safer naval movement. Is there a point in taking the forts? For instance if I was to take Mobile from inland and had no intention of moving a navy up the river should I even take these forts? Or do they offer anything to a bloackade value to uncaptured ports?

It's possible they might impede Union supply from the sea. For instance, when I land in New Orleans, I always take Fort Pike right away, so as to ensure my supply line.

Other than that, I dunno fer sure.
