Game Turn Back up lost

I had my game loaded onto an external drive, after having played 40+ turns in a Pbem game I disconnected my external drive because I've had to move my computer to another room and accidently dropped it from a height of no more than 2 inches, now my computer can't see the drive and I have lost everything that was on it. I have reloaded the game and the latest patch, is there anyway I can continue the Pbem game. All turns sent and received are still in my email deleted folder.
This applys to my War in America and Napoleons Campaigns games which I have ongoing Pbem turns.
I would hate to them all, can someone help me out?
