Why can't I end a military phase?

Sat Jan 31, 2009 10:02 am

Just bought game and updated it. Done scenarios and wanted to try the advanced model in the campaign game having done it in the scenarios

Playing a relatively normal Entente vs the CP Moltke plan I appear to have only 3 activatable armies. No French + Russian 1+2 an Serbia. So Do Russ 1 and move it. Do Russ 2 and move it. Do Serbia and move it. The little flag says there is still something to do. I have searched and searched for something else to activate without success.

Please what have I missed? Any help gratefully received

The red flags means "mandatory attacks": you have to plan an offensive movement. In particular, some warplans require the Russian I army move against Koenigsberg and the Russian II army against Tannenberg: this is clearly written in the tooltips of these armies' HQs.

Next patch will have two new shortcut keys that will help you newcomers:

M: center the map over the first unsatisfied mandatory attack
A: center the map over the first not-activated army (only army-by-army activation mode).

Also, considering you're a newcomer, I strongly suggest you to play in WEGO mode (no strictly turn-based, no army-by-army activation mode). You will find anyway the mandatory attacks, but the game will be much simpler. ;)

Thanks,
Calvinus.

Considering that we are all really newcomers ;) , these are great news!

Thanks, Calvinus

Thank you. After playing the demo last night, I was going to ask for this. :)

Other useful hotkeys that will come:

Ctrl + S : display all supply lines (relays & sources, different colors) for the currently selected stack
Ctrl + R : display all actual railtracks on the map

I'd sussed that bit on the mandatories and yes the seek unactivated would be great. I had worked out that this was going to be too complicated for me now but as a programmer myself I like to "test" these things. Now I will press on with "pressing all the buttons and kicking the tyres"

Looks a great game though
thanks
