Language selection

Fri Dec 05, 2008 9:43 pm

Most AGEod games offer language support for English, French, Spanish, German, Italian installation.
It's also true, but English, French, German, Spanish pages are active at AGEod forum.
I'm intersted to know users preferences as regard installation and gaming language: that could be useful to understand if efforts behind massive translations are indeed worth .

Voted for

English, (no mother language/my home language is available)

Always prefer to use english, even my Windows language is english. Even though if I had to mantain a conversation it would be a complete mess, other thing is to read and write :mdr:

If this poll is because of arsan's translation is too demanding, IMHO his efforts should be better oriented to translate spanish units in the PW ;)

That decision is up to arsan: Spanish language comunity seems to be quite active here...... then He is Spanish ambassador!
My doubts are with other language: Italian at first!

I too voted for English (no mother language/my home language is available)
Even if i do part of the AGEOD games spanish translations i prefer to play in English myself  :bonk:
I started playing AGEOD games on English and it seem more natural to me than on my own language

Regarding the mod translation... well, i committed to do the spanish translations so i will do it (sooner or later... ;) even if it's more work than i expected at first :bonk:
Just don't keep adding new things daily!! :grr: ;)
But i fear that just a small bunch of players will ever use them :(

Regards

Maybe It's time JastaV to ask for a dedicated Italian language forum since some members are very active ;) and could lead a growing Italian language community ...

English, even if I am Italian.

This is my first post BTW, I only played AACW so far, but I'm looking forward to get all the other AGEOD's games.

Actually, there are no German forums hosted here. We are linking to the German forums at Strategycon Interactive, in effect recommending the members of our community who wish to discuss our games in German to go there :)

It seems like we, the Italian, prefer English! :D
Looking at PC-games market in Italy, (low quality, most of time partial translation; patches and upgrades unsupported for Italian games version.... !!!*** ) a can ulderstand reasons for that!

 *** notice: I'm not referring to AGEod games, but in general to PC games sold in Italy!
I never had chance to go after Italian installation/localization with AGEod products, I'm buying UK version and playing English!
AFAIK, AGEod games Italian version could be perfect!

Our translations are always monitored by players during the localization processes. Because only players can translate correctly some wording :)

Thanks Arsan !
I'm a big fan too. :)
My avatar is taken from his new released book on the 14-18 war, Putain de guerre !

For those who don't know him, Tardi is a famous french comic artist. (wiki)
He is particularly known for his works on a realistic depiction of the 14-18 trench-war (C'était la guerre des tranchées), or recently the Paris Commune of 1871 (Le cri du peuple), adaptions of Noir crime novels (Nestor Burma), and the rocambolesque adventures of his heroine Adèle Blanc-Sec in the early XXth century Paris.

My favorite auteur de bandes-dessinées ! :coeurs:

Arsan, have you read him in spanish ?

[sorry for HS ;) ]

Hi!
Yes i have most of Tardi works edited in Spain and translated to spanish. I can barely read French :bonk:
I think most of his work is edited here. In the 80s, 90s it was one of the most famous European comic authors around here.
Lately, Manga and American comic book have left European comics quite relegated on the shops... :(
But we still get quite some albums edited around here. :)
The awesome Adele Blanc Sec  series was ones of the first comics i bough back on the late eighties. :D
And Nestor Burma is also one of my favorite characters :coeurs: I love the black/white movei look of these comics.
Tardi and Francois Bourgeon are my two favorite European authors :coeurs:
I will be on the look for this new WW1 Tardi album! I didn't knew there was a new one
Regards!
