Enemy Armies stacked together and a CTD crash with 104e

Sat Nov 29, 2008 7:40 pm

Attached saved file shows Russian army units somehow stacked with AH IV Army units in Galicia.

Then, I'm not sure if that is what caused it, but I have gotten a CTD crash 3 times in a row where the West Front units get teleported to the Serbia part of the map before the crash.

I want to love this game, but it is getting more difficult by the day due to these kind of obvious bugs.

For the time being go back to 1.04d, I've yet to have CTD.

This matter is currently being discussed in another post. This is a nasty side-effect of the WEGO mode applied to the boardgame rules of LGG... :(

We are studying a solution.

I'm here for you! I have your savegame running... and what do I have to do? Simply click on next turn?

Yes. Just click to continue the turn and the CTD should occur.

Thanks again for all the hard work!

One update: if one takes the .sav file posted at the top of this thread, switches it to army-by-army mode, and then tries to continue the game, the AI activates several armies (including a couple attacks in one run) but then hangs with a different kind of error: the "military AI" black box keeps coming up, going away, then coming up again over and over, without any more armies activating. I let it go for 10 min and it wouldn't move forward, but technically was still running when I ctrl-alt-del to exit the game.

Not sure if it helps, but wanted to mention it.

The army-by-army activation rule is supposed to be started since the very beginning of a match. In fact, I'm considering to disable all these options with savegames. Once you start a match with a set of rules, you must keep it until the end.

In addition, as written in other posts, the advanced game mode is yet not double-checked 100% after the AI engine refactoring we had to do with max urgency in the first days after the game release on market, due to the HW incompatibily problems that the multi-threaded AI engine suffered on a lot of PC config.

Done so (I also placed some reinforcements in Serbia, even the Germans), but no crash.

One idea: have you played a scenario before this savegame in the same game session??? :sherlock:

I finally spotted a few malfunctions when playing two scenarios in a row within the same game session, due to memory not properly refreshed in the map window when quitting a scenario, that I will fix very soon of course.

This design hole (coming from side-effect of WEGO mode applied to the original LGG boardgame rules) is now "fixed", see other thread. Next patch...
