Switzerland and East Front

Fri Nov 28, 2008 1:48 am

Are the Swiss troops suppose to be in the eastern front? I also accidently coverted a german rail with the Swiss unit. So is this a glitch?

I didn't place the Swiss (inf)unit there.

Noo, Switzerland is on Western Front. Use the Tab key in Military map mode to browse the sub-modes and you will see the Fronts map filter! ;)

Switzerland is normally on the Western Front, French sector

If swiss units 'convert' German rial, it means they have moved inside Germany and Switzerland is at war with Germany, i.e. you chose the Warplan with the attack on the Swiss, right ?

This can be the only reason. In all my (hundred of) plays, I never saw the Swiss, being neutrals, that invade Germany! :D

Germany declared on them in 1914 war plan - not the allies

Then I noticed a Swiss unit on the "eastern front". So are they suppose to be on the eastern front(there is one Inf unit there)? I am the allies-The German AI selected the warplan to attack into Switzerland in 1914.

I did not place the Swiss infantry unit there, that I know off. Poof! it popped up there during some turn

One second... could I rightly suppose that you are confusing the "neutral" symbol that can be seen on neutral minors, such as Romania (this symbol looks like the swiss flag!!) with a Swiss unit.... ?
Do you know where was that Swiss unit (screenshot maybe?)
Thanks

I'll look, if I am correct, its much farther east-on the German/Russian front not the Austrian/russian front or farther towards Romania. But I could be wrong.

Sorry for some reason I can't upload the screen. The unit is a Swiss inf unit located in Pultusk, just outside of Warsaw. Also the post in Pultusk looks to be a rail control post.

Is it a swiss unit detached it a CP stack? Or a swiss stack alone?
In the first case, it could be a wrongly scripted reinforcement... For example, I remember that Bruno (the scenario designer) did a serious mistake with the Serbian reinforcements, putting them all to Greeks! :mdr: Fixed with 1.0.4... I remember...

Its a Infantry detachment - a stack of one unit only. Sorry I was between cities traveling or I would have gotten back to ya sooner. The unit is located in Pultusk outside of warsaw(German eastern front).

Zip damaged... :(

Anyway some questions:
1) are you playing the 4-players campaign?
2) what is the diplomatic level of Switzerland? Is her at war?

Thanks,
Calvinus.

Also noticed a Swiss Det unit on the Russo-Turkish front. Time now is Nov-Dec 1917.
