units that self disband

Can you please explain why some units self disband.I can't find any reason in the manual.No warning or reason is given for this event. Thanks

Hi nocoat, and welcome to the forums :)

Historically, many soldiers returned to their homes at the end of a campaign season; units disbanding (and re-forming again in the spring) represent this.

Hi, and Welcome! :D

Every winter [December IIRC], Continentals [not the trained ones], Militia and Provincial troops have a probability to 'go home'.

Also, if you had a 'Revolt' where local militia captured an enemy city, those troops 'dissolve' in a few turns....
