Gurkha Campaign

Tue Oct 21, 2008 7:06 pm

I hope this is allowed, it's not controversial really and it's good to offer support to vets who have served their countries.

In brief, I'm sure most of you will be aware of the Gurkhas and their service in the British army. Recently the courts have ruled that the British government is in the wrong to deny veterans of our Gurkha units permission to live in Britain on retirement. There's a currently a campaign on to encourage the government to do this swiftly rather than delay it as many of the vets are elderly.

There's an online petition which will be delivered with its written counterpart to Downing Street soon.

With Remembrance Day approaching, here's to those on the boards who have served and a huge thank you for doing so.
