Kamikaze Johnston

Mon Oct 13, 2008 10:22 pm

CSA/Athena send Johnston into this suicidal battle during harsh weather. Version 1.11d, AI set to normal aggressiveness, slight FOW advantage, extra time to think.

I can't think of any good reason Athena would do this, except faulty detection. Thoughts?

Version 1.11d, no mods. Saved game here:

I'm up to early Jan 62, so I hope it's straightforward to figure out which of the backup saves is early Nov 61.

Learned my lesson. No more incomplete posts (assuming this is not one of those). :siffle:

No save with an Early november turn with Johnston losing a battle at day 15 in the archive. You have one game which was in early 62 that I back up to early november (no battle) and one called 'river battle' which is still in august 61, so this can't be this one either.

As I've stated before, we need more information to actually be able to try to fix behaviors like this. Minimum information needed is the update patch version of the game, MODS if any that might be installed, and above all else, the saved game files.

Is this in the faq, and are you the official person evaluating ai behaviour?Anyways, I'm updating my post in case anyone's interested. It seems the ai takes over on player moves sometimes, not only reverting to defensive stance etc but sometimes just going off on its own tangents. I just want confirmation about that and it's what my overlooked post was about.

Those are the only files I have, and I didn't do anything tricky like re-doing a turn.
