BoA @ Gamer feed 3/5 "The game is slow, methodical, and obviously well crafted"

I don't quite get some points in this review:

- the text being squintably small:
What kind of resolution was he using?

- the translation being pretty shoddy.
I thought most of the mistakes had been patched?

Well, and he thinks that it "feels like playing a board game", so Robin should be happy... :niark:

Just a quick comment about "squinting" ... (I didn't read the whole review just that part.)

From the screenshots included, you can see that they were done at fairly high resolution due to the relative proportion of various pieces of the artwork. This leads me to the conclusion that:

(1) The reviewer didn't know how to get a resolution other than having it default to the standard desktop resolution.

or

(2) The review was using an LCD display such that the only real resolution option was a high resolution native choice to avoid interpolation distortion.

Myself I am on a 21" CRT with a 1600x1200 desktop, but play BoA at 1024x768 because it is much easier on the eyes.

I must say I agree with the review, I wish I had more time to "polish" everything.

I don't. Most games could do with a bit of extra love here and there, but it is certainly not 'unfinished' looking.

The text is readable. The only thing I would agree with is the lack of soundtrack (and other SFX). There is only two music files (and one of those is the intro), a few more would have been desirable.

All in all I think the review was a little bit harsh, all things considered,

so the reviewer gets a :fleb: out of :sourcil: on my humble rating.

About sounds & music: this is mostly a budget problem. You should be pleased with what we are brewing about that in the 2nd game :)

About resolution and fonts: The screenshots presented don't have fonts distortion. I find the size ok, but that's because I'm used to play BOA at 1600x1200. On the other hand, AGEsettings allow now a wealth of resolution choices, though I agree that you have to know that the options are there and not in-game to change them!
