I'll bring this to Korrigan's attention when he gets back from vacation :)

Threads need simply a tag 'AACW' or 'BoA'

My experience says posters are generally too lazy or forget to do something like that.

I second the two subforums. It is a bit of a chore to look at each thread and decipher at times which game it is for, when sometimes it isn't that apparent.

I vote for the two forums as well. I have really enjoyed the input and the debate on the leader optimization mod in the main forum. I hope the topic doesnt get lost and die off over here, and I hope new purchasers of the game will be aware of the mods that exist.

Splitting them it's an obvious choice when the community gets bigger like now... Korrigan will surelly look at this when he gets back, like Rafiki said. :niark:

Guys (AGEod), I think the time has come when we need to split this forum into game-specific subforums, please. It would really help modders for organization, and the general public for perusing what is going on and what is available.

A wise primate once said that Korrigan should be allowed to complete his vacation ;)

AFAIK, he isn't back yet, but will be very shortly :) Also, AFAIK, he's the one who will decide/set things up if decided.

I swear! The moment Korrigan is back, I'll start nagging him about this. It's at the very top of my list of things I've "looked after" while he's been on vacation :cwboy:

I see Korrigan writting from time to time there... dunno if he is really back.

About this splitting problem. The trouble is modding BOA or ACW is 95% the same, and this would be a pity to split the knowledge base. This is the same code base, script engine, excel structure etc.

The sad thing is, I wonder how many players who come to the AACW main forum even know this forum is over here? I don't know...

Seems to me there should be a mod discussion forum for works-in-progress and sharing general info, and then one for completed mod work (that latter posted in the main AACW forum).

Let me add that once VGN comes out, it will be even more difficult to separate mod discussion from existing mod works. Thus the need for separate mod forums in each specific game forum (BoA, AACW, etc), as well as a general mod discussion forum here. I understand wanting to keep general engine discussions out in one place...

OK, I'm back. Thank you for your patience. :cwboy:

I agree with separating the two forums, but would you think to be the best:

1) To keep this general forum with two sub forums?

2) Or to have a sub forum in each dedicated game forum?

option 1 - lots of mod questions will continue to be asked in other forums, but this forum will be better organized.
option 2 - lots of mod questions will continue to be asked in other forums, but maybe not quite as many.

Is there a way to create a single forum for each game that is both a sub forum of mods and dedicated game (2 pointers, 1 location)?

Isn't it possible in vBulletin to have "links" to forums so that they appear like subforums to a given forum, while actually being elsewhere in the "forum tree" (for lack of better terms)

I.e. that you can have a modding forum with game-specific forums under it, then in each game's main discussion forum, you have a link to the game's modding subforum?

(I'll consider myself lucky if anyone understands any of that)

side topic, but if people with some modding knowledge would flesh a bit the wiki (about modding), this would be a great starting point for a comprehensive modding manual. And I would survey additions anyway. There is already a great deal of info in the forum, but they tend to get lost and people ask the same things over and over.

Done

I've created one sub forum for each game, plus one sub forum where all moders can find some useful info.

Please feel free to make further suggestions.

I think Completed mods should be easier to find.
