Paint the world in your own color?

I was wanting to keep the regions i conquered during a war. Selecting this option from the options screen does that? Do i have to have loyalty or anything and will they be considered national regions? Thx

It's not easy to make new territories part of your national country. When a war is over, you can ask for peace. As part of the peace process, you can ask for some or all territory (based on historical claims). You can not claim every region you take in the war, sometimes you can not keep any (the game takes into account warscore, which is a measure of how well you are doing against your enemy). Most areas you keep will not be national regions, but be de jure regions.

One more question on De Jure regions. Can you build structures, units, and make improvements, etc? If you can build structures, will the production be sent to your national stockpile automatically, assuming you have a land connection, or do you need a collection point/depot?

I have never received de jure regions, and thus can't answer. I would assume that de jure regions would be the same as colonial areas.
