Problem running the game

Wed Feb 11, 2009 5:25 am

I recently decided to reinstall the Civil War on my computer (XP).

The installation went all the way to finished, but then freezes there. As I understand it, this is the step where I am supposed to enter my serial key, however this window never appears.

By shutting down the process, I was able to get the Civil War to complete installation. However, both the main exe and the settings exe were non-responsive, so I attempted to install the patch.

The patch threw an error about the settings exe (it could not overwrite it), so I deleted that file after stopping its process. The patch was then able to completely install.

I then entered my serial key in the settings area, and ran the main exe. However...the game now freezes on the loading screen, and the bar at the bottom does not progress. The game does not initialize.

I've tried everything I can think of- any suggestions? :)

Thanks in advance!

Edit: When all else fails...restart. Problem solved. :)

Thanks Gray!

I did move around the boxes, but could not find the configuration screen. If it was hiding...it was hiding too well for me to uncover. :)

Hopefully the fact that I cancelled installation did *not* screw it up. It seems to run fine now, but....who knows what may happen in the future? :)
