Orders not carried out

Sat Nov 29, 2008 8:37 pm

Quite generally speaking, what could be the possible reasons why a movement order is not carried out? I suppose there must be several possible explanations, because both my opponent and I have seen it happen sometimes (but not often).

I am not speaking about cases where *no* orders are carried out at all (because that must mean something has gone wrong with the entire .ord file or turn resolution). Just the occasional move of a stack that simply doesn't happen.

Thanks. :)

Hi

I ve had several times this "orders not carried out", but ONLY in case the unit START and FINISH in the same place.

I ve tested a few times, only while real PBEM playing, and I rememeber once I did achieved to do the order (in a old patch, perhaps 1.09 or so).

Playing 1.11a I ve never achieved this.

Also, I ve had some problems with Troops not "JOINING" the proper command, just going to the same area, this has happened to me when moving the "destination stack" to better see the situation.

After this movings, I ve checked all moving units to confirm exactly if these are moving to the proper stack,... however they dont join.

and other failures are just due to bad mouse clicks.

I had this issue during a couple of games, but I have always attributed it to a new division lacking the organization price or a leader not being activated. It is rare, but I would like to know if there are any other possible reasons it might happen.

It sounds like you're describing attempting to cross a river that is "under guns". It took me a while to figure out how that works, and it's really tough to see ahead of time.
