AI difficutly Very Hard

Wed Jul 23, 2008 2:55 am

Having the AI on very hard makes the game turn into a sluggout i was the south they marhced from manassas with 60,000 men and took Richmond in one turn lol but that unlocked Lee on the very turn he arrives in september 61 the Ai and i were fighting it out in winter condionts with low cohesion it was crazy. I almost had lee to go to rank 4 because of all the fighting. I had like six three star leaders, johneson, Beuregard, Lee, Jackson, Albert Johnson, and even that one guy for a little bit who is removed Cooper, it was crazy.
Quote General Lee Gettysburg movie,
"Do you see, General, there is the great trap, to be a good soldier you must love the army, to be a good commander you must be ready to order the death of the thing you love. We don't fear our death. But if this war goes on and on and the men die and the price gets ever high. We are prepared to lose some of us, but we are never prepared to lose all of us. We are adrift here in a sea of blood and I want it to end. I want this to be the final battle".

Hi cobraII,

what are your settings for the detection bonus for the AI? This helps the AI most imo, if you want to have a tough game. :)

I usally try to combine/withdraw all my units in the east near Richmond, to Richmond, at the very start of a game on the hardest difficulty. As in the past i have had similar happen to me, where the Union came in force and wiped out my smaller forces along the way. Where as with a big combined stand in Richmond, I usally win, and they retreat. A hard lesson to learn.
