Jabber,

I'm using your 1.10d set and seem to have 2 x G McCall, one with an 83 seniority and the other 95, both appeared in 1861, is this correct?

Probably a scenario setup / event problem. What campaign are you playing?

curious about enemy army graphics!

Sat Jul 26, 2008 4:22 pm

I'm still curious as to why a few enemy army general portaits change to generic army images.(soldier icons)

example: both Jackson and Forrest were spotted as commanding officers,portaits in place.Several turns later same army has generic soldier image in place of portrait while Jackson and Forrest are still listed as commanding officers.

I wonder if its it's caused by an injury to the General, both were in resent battles,or possibly faulty intelligence. Not complaining just curious, thanks!

Game Crash, latest update 1.10d of the Mod

Sun Jul 27, 2008 3:33 am

Jabberwock,

I updated my General graphics mod game. I got a critical error. No saved games a fresh install of 1.10d with the latest RR mod update. The critical error came while the game was loading. I had no problems prior to loading the 1.10d update of this mod. I have attached the !main log.

Since I run your mod in a seperate folder I loaded my vanilla game with 1.10d and the latest RR mod update ,no problem loading. log attached !main log Vanilla.

This you can rule out, I ran a vanilla unmoded 1.10d and this shows up in the log:

10:07:05 PM [Warning ] TModel.Create The model 217 Robert E. Rodes has a TechUpg value of -2147483648 Check if the alias is correct, corrected to -1
10:07:05 PM [Warning ] TModel.Create The model 304 John Schofield has a TechUpg value of -2147483648 Check if the alias is correct, corrected to -1

So some in the mod caused the crash.

The error message re Rodes and Schofield is in both logs and doesnt usually crash the game, I think the problem lies elsewhere.

Just want to say that this is an awesome addition, Jabberwock. Can't have enough real faces - the more, the merrier.

Here's hoping your work shows up in the next patch.

Thanks!

Unable to get into game

Mon Jul 28, 2008 2:18 am

Gray_Lensman wrote:When someone says they received a critical error, I generally take this to mean they can't get into the game at all.

Yes that was the case. I loaded in this order; 61, 62, 63, update found on page 6 of this thread, dated 1 may 2008, and then loaded Updated CSA-USA Portraits 1.10 Ver 2. This was over 1.10d and AACW_Historical_Accuracy_MOD_20080717_(fast_install). The game started to load and then got a criticial error message and back to desktop.

I redid a fresh install up date to 1.10d and reinstalled mod except for the 1 may 2008 update. The game loaded. I thoought I would open up the update zip fill and compare the mdl files to what was currently in the game. I found this difference:

BaseCohLoss = 22
BaseAttrition = 22

These two line entries where missing from the 1 may 2008 update mdls for
548USAJ. Foster, 587USAJ. Barnes, 545USAH. Berry, 550USAL. Rousseau and, 596USAS. Fry.

I ask could those missing line enteries in the mdl cause a crash to disk top?

The game is working with out the 1 may 2008 update. I think I will leave it at that. I will install AACW_Historical_Accuracy_MOD_20080717_(fast_install). and see what happens and report back.

I checked my copy of the graphics mod and those files had the 2 lines.

4th post in this thread has the newest version of the mod try downloading again.

Those lines derive from an addition to the database a couple of patches ago.

I'll double-check this and add the Rodes and Schofield fix to the download tonight.

I'll look into the McCall issue as well. I don't think the mod is causing the problem, but I may be able to identify what is.

Lensman and Jabberwock

Tue Jul 29, 2008 1:08 am

Lensman,
Thanks for the quick fix on the rodes and Scholfield.

Jabberwock,
If you would check that page 6 update post and look over the zip you will find those line enteries missing in those mdl files.

BaseCohLoss = 22
BaseAttrition = 22

For.

548USAJ. Foster, 587USAJ. Barnes, 545USAH. Berry, 550USAL. Rousseau and, 596USAS. Fry.

That update need for this mod?

I down loaded them about three or four days ago.
Great work on this mod.

I want to report a possible bug. Confederate general Alexander (artillery specialist) appeares (Jan '62) as a generic portrait general while there is a unique portrait for him in specific folder. Playing unmodified 1.10d.

Updated post #4 (to fix Alexander, Rodes, Schofield, and Pickett), and the mini-download on page 6 as well (to make that one compatible with the new mdl format). Additional notes in those posts.

Just one question. Union general R.Mitchel appears with no portrait. I couldn't figure is there his portrait at all?

He's not in the mod, yet. Do you mean no picture at all, or a generic portrait?
