"Loosing" troops

Wed Nov 07, 2007 10:54 am

I suppose somebody said it before, sorry in this case.

Besides, it's not a bbug or really important but, on the other hand, it's a little mistake that is very easy to solve:

In some of the messages, I think when you lose NM, VPs or soldiers, the game says you loose them, which is not the same. :)

Sorry, couldn't resist cheap joke... You are correct, I believe.

Back when I was a college tutor, I noticed many (supposedly intelligent) Americans have a problem figuring out the difference between lose and loose.

What gets "loosed", however, is rather momentous according to a certain song that may be heard whilst playing:

"He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword"...

Blame the French!

If William of Normandy had not conquered us, we Anglo-Saxon's would have a sensible language.

You absolutely must visit this link if you want to know how insane our English language is....Good Luck pronouncing every word correctly!

English Pronunciation!?!

If you can pronounce correctly every word in this poem, you will be speaking English better than 90% of the native English speakers in the world. After trying the verses, a Frenchman said he'd prefer six months of hard labour to reading six lines aloud. Try them yourself.
