Missing Words - Assault Posture Button

Tue Nov 06, 2007 9:29 am

A small item for the patch!

The words "Assault Posture" are missing from the beginning of the Tool Tip when passed over the red Posture button.

Only a newbie like me would notice I suppose :niark:

Kudos on a great 1st tutorial too. There are some minor typos and a couple of references to numbers don't match the action on the screen.

If you have the time to look over that it would be icing on the cake.

Cheers,
Adam.

Hi Adam!

If you have the time to look over that it would be icing on the cake.

You are correct, the tutorial is a bit outdated due to the changes of the recent patches. I reworked these parts however, so a more accurate version will be in the next patch. :)

Cheers
Norbert

If I could hijack the thread slightly - as we are on the topic of buttons - I would love to see a "Don't march to the sound of the guns button"

There have been a few times in my current PBEM game where I would love to be able to prevent this. Sometimes when an army that may march is low on supply or cohesion (even though I think that is factored into the march or not equation) but other times you may just not want a stack to march or just get it the hell out of the region it is in (and thinking about that - does anyone know if a unit with a move order would still march to the guns?) At least you should be able to influence this I think.

But passive posture leaves you open to slaughter if caught I always thought?
Nice to know that a unit in passive posture will not "march to the sound of the guns" though! (we have to start calling this MTTSOTG- or MTG).

What is the % malus to combat and the % bonus to escape if in passive posture - and if evade is also used?

Cheers, Chris

Dang, I need to pay better attention to "passive" vs "defensive"

I was attacked in Passive Posture (since I believe you get higher priority to get replacements?) and I won the battle taking no more than normal casualities. I was VERY depleted as well and was attacked by a slightly stronger force. It is the only time it has ever happened though so maybe it was just good ole luck on my side.

passive give you +10% chance of escaping battle but during battle your protection rating and your discipline stat is 90% of what you should get.

Evasive order is an entire different formula, basically the % chance to get caught it is 'zoc rating' / 'evasion rating' with some tweaks.

Is this true ?

Btw I think I will reconsider using the passive posture.

I've always been terrified of being caught in passive since BoA but it doesn't sound as bad as I thought!

less protection = less value from your entrenchment, and less discipline = higher chance to fail moral check or be shaken in battle.
