Jackson as Army commander

Sat Oct 27, 2007 8:30 am

Hi
In a PBEM I have finally put Jackson in command of an army. I have taken some Corps from Johnston and give them to his new "Army of the Potomac" (located near Atlanta though) but now I see that under Jackson Corps Commander have their command points reduced, for instance Forrest had 8 command points under Johnosn, and under Jackson he ´has only 4, do you know how is that determined?

Hi Aryaman,

Quoting from the leader list

Date: Early May 1861
Initial rank: 2 **
Seniority: 5
Political Cost: 7
Combat Values: 5/4/4
Abilities: Fast-Move, Strong-Morale, Surpriser
Note: enters as second in command of the CSA Army of the Shenandoah in Warren, VA.
Army locked 3 turns and is 30% of strength (needs replacement)
Special comments: When promoted to a rank of “3” Jackson also has the “Quick-Angered” ability.

As u see he "gains" the "Quick-Angered” ability, when promoted. If u look at that ability u will see it really bad for commaders to have that ability altering its subcommanders CPs ratings negatively, IIRC.

So lesson as i see it. Dont promote Jackson he is much better as a corps commander and shouldnt be promoted cuz of he wont do the army commander job well. I know thats belated advice since you alrdy have promoted him. Any how if playing a "optimzed" game IMHO he shoudlnt be promoted, but keept as the best corps commander around.

kind regards,

Rasmus
