2 questions for Pocus

Sat Sep 15, 2007 9:04 pm

Dear Pocus, :indien:

I wanted to ask you if it's possible to add in the next releases and if you have time, a search box to help a total ignorant in american geography like me to immediately find the region/dept/state/town/unit/general.

Also, some very high resolutions do not allow ease of manouvering with the stacks...if you forget to lock them...ewwww. A zoomed view would be nice.

I also wanted to ask you about the manual revisions. As far as i know the last official released pdf is 1.05/20 is this the most updated one?

I'll save the next 3052379271 questions for next patch. :)

If you're using the roster, you can already click on a unit/general/whatever to center the map on that location. If you're looking at messages, you can likewise click on them to center the map on the event/location/unit.

The fabled search box. Yes, we are thinking about it since february 2006 (date where BOA was released) and so far, it is still on our list.

The manual has not been updated since some time true. We have no one left with some time to update it these weeks, sorry.

I'd use to find out info quickly about the location of a city-dept-state. I know for units there's the roster but the roster doesn't talk about geography and i guess non-american players are at 0 stage with u.s geography...like me. :)

I noted down what you wrote on the recent updates in a special part of the wiki. When the time comes we will help reform it. At 1.1 it will be a must.

Would it help to have overviews where provinces are sorted by name, state, etc?

before anything, you have to know what has changed since the latest revision, but I suppose this is the case (the readme file can help). That done, editing & formating the word file should not take more than 3-4 hours maximum.

"Proof being in the pudding" (or whatever the phrase is), this is what I have in mind:

(This is just a proof of concept; several things need to be done about headers and formatting)

Sounds feasible; I'd like to give it a go after 1.07 is finalizes, if you'd like :)

Now, the content of this link could also go in the ledger. Click there and the screen goes to the selected area. :)

I have plans for lists by state and list containing only cities and possibly a couple more :)
