Epidemics hitting the same army always and with devastating effect

Wed Jan 31, 2018 10:35 am

Title pretty much. 3 times in a row in one PBEM. This game punishes large stacks too much!

We need a save to investigate....which army, which side, what message, when...? :sherlock:

IMHO, it is a good way the game has to prevent Superstacks of Doom.

Besides is historical and plausible.

Sure it can be historical, but why punish the player so harshly? Three turns in a row is devastating and takes a year's worth of money and men to replace.

Why not open the forum where you can attach fileS?
It's the Elector of Baden's army. The message is just "Epidemics" and the event.

I am assuming it is working correctly and you had bad luck.

The punish is the way to learn, so you do not mass your armies or assume the risk if decide you do it.

More people together, more probable an epidemic disease hits.

Anyway post the save so they can take a look.

Well, if the Bourbons mass their armies near a province, I will too of course if they attack... What do you mean?

What I suggest is limiting this event to once per 6 months since it's the worst there is and can ruin a game in a few turns.

I mean mass in a single stack.

The huger an army is, the more probable it is hit by an epidemic.

I do not know whether it affects also by proximity, several stacks in a region or nearby.

Yes but tell me then, how in PBEM do you fight against an opponent who has the same stack size next to you?

Scorched earth?

You may retire an divide your force, you will hit the enemy later when his cohesion is lower.

Yeah and that is how you lose a level 3 fort for free then...

So, your depleted force by disease was besieged?

No. If you retreat you're basically giving the fort for free.

I am surprised, Level 3 forts takes a while to fall...and you can try to surround the besieger or harrass him... :indien:

If you have bad luck with the siege events(which should be nerfed) it can take just a few months.

Just to be sure: the file attachment option is a separate tab below the message box when you are typing a new post. Are you able to see that?

This has not been solved since the new forum was established.

Apparently nobody responsible of the forum read the posts, or just do not care.
