A little off-topic but related. I came across this Russian Civil War Metagame AAR and found it very entertaining.

The thing I liked was how the metagame, which involves dozens of people not just as general, but including playing the roles of various government ministers, tribal leaders, green factions, etc., can simulate how random and chaotic armed conflicts can actually be. Where personalities and random events make a real difference. They even had three women roleplaying the Cheka.
It would be great if someday online wargame "metagames" could be created where you could get hundreds of people from around the world to do something like this.
Anyway, thought folks would find it interesting.
