The clock in the up right corner. Does it mean something?

It's so you can see how much time has slipped by while you have been playing

Don't feel bad, my first AGEOD game was Pride of Nations and the damn clock in PON drove me nuts for quite some time. Surely it could not be as simple as being a real-time time piece and something so profoundly useful just had to have some deeper, game-related utility. But no, it's just a clock...

The Roman numerals on the AJE clock are a nice touch and I actually miss this feature when playing TYW.
