CTD, August 8-15, 1808 with newest 1.02 patch

This is from a game I had been running under all the latest patches before the 1.02 patch. The game CTD'd before installing 1.02 at Aug 8-15, 1808, and after installing the patch, I backed it up a couple of turns and took another run at Aug 8-15. It crashed again.

I've uploaded the log file, but every time I try to upload the saved game, this forum tells me it is an invalid file type. If you know a way around this, I'd sure love some help.

If you find the problem, it would be great! I've been working on this single-player campaign for a long time and it's fun. I'd hate to restart...

It's been a while since I sent one in, but as I recall, I took the log files and copied them into the saved game directory, then zipped the directory with winzip and uploaded that zip file. I think it uploads files fine that have the zip extension.

If none of the troubleshooters can locate the problem, can anyone suggest ways of getting around a crash? Do I back up one turn, two turns, and not make certain kinds of decisions that are more liable than others to cause crashes? I just ask because if I have to re-install and start over, I won't be playing this game for a while...too much time spent on 140 something odd turns, you know?
