Guide for Using Dropbox for PBEM Games

Fri Oct 10, 2014 2:54 am

At the request of Pocus, I have written a guide for using Dropbox for transferring of PBEM files for AGEOD titles.

I hope this helps someone in the community.

Hehe, this is lengthy but that's because this is really explained step by step with images. Thanks to Jim for the document in any case :)

Thanks Jim for passing on this invaluable aid. I well recall how useful this was for those of us playing PON :)

Everyone is welcome of course. I wanted it to be step by step, with pictures. Can you tell I sometimes write instructions for other people in my job? :D

Thanks Jim. Other than the email sent being smaller/quicker (as it no longer requires attached orders) are there any other advantages of using the drop box system?

The biggest advantage is multiplayer. For example, we were playing a PON game with 16 players at one point. Imagine having to send out 15 emails, then get 15 back.

I like to use Dropbox for the 3 or more player games (such as AJE, TEAW, and PON). The other nice thing is you can keep a lot of turns in folders in Dropbox, and look at past turns.
